Kanzashi In Bloom ~ Book Giveaway!
Thursday, July 8, 2010 When I picked up a copy of Kanzashi In Bloom {by the wonderful Diane Gilleland of Crafty Pod!} it was a dream come true! I've been so intrigued by these traditional Japanese hair ornaments and I've been longing to learn how to make them!

Diane Gilleland, also known as Sister Diane {!}, takes you step by step through the process of creating your own lovely flowers simply by folding and sewing pieces of square fabric! I had no idea until I read the book! Everything you need to know ~ materials, techniques, assembly, and resources ~ is right here! ..and after reading Kanzashi In Bloom you will never get rid of your scrap pieces of fabric again, but if you do, you can send them my way ;) ... Adding a modern twist to a traditional art form, this book is full of beautiful and simple projects from hair ornaments to jewelry {ring, earrings, and necklaces} to gift toppers and more! Take a look at the Kanzashi In Bloom website and flickr group photos! And don't forget to visit Sister Diane at Crafty Pod, too!

How fun, would love to read and try things in this book.
Oooh, I just perused the book and it looks wonderful--fun and interesting. AND(!) it even looks like something I could do ... maybe ... if I tried really hard ...
How fun is that? I totally want to learn how to make those flowers! Cute!
Also - I already follow you on twitter and in my lovely Google Reader!

And I tweeted (twitter.com/anna_24)!!
Looks amazing!

What? This is actual published book? Sorry, but that Kanzashi looks all wonky.
It's not symmetrical, though it appears it's supposed to be.
Any other seller on Etsy does better work.
I guess anything passes as good craft these days, geez!
Hair ornaments? That's so awesome. I could use some hair accessories and it would be so much cooler if I made them myself.
There were a few years that I was obsessed with everything Japanese! I even tried learning the language but it is difficult!
So you could give me a boost if I win this giveaway! ;D I kid but I would love to win!
Sounds like this book is full of lots of fantastic ideas! I'm on board!
I love Sister Diane. She is always so creative and inspirational PLUS she is such a great teacher of how to market your handmade business. She is a wealth of knowledge. I have wanted this book since it came out. Thanks for the give away.

When I first came across kanzashi on Etsy, I wanted to try it as well. Such pretty flowers and with my love of hair accessories (big hair lends itself to decoration), I've had this book on my Amazon wishlist for a long time! I'm excited to see this giveaway!
I just added you to the blog list on my site so I could follow you. Thought I had you there so I could follow your posts, but I must have lost the link when I converted the website.
